7 Ways To Become A Better Wife

First of all, don’t doubt yourself as a person, a wife or a mother. It is a lot to juggle for any person and knowing that is the first way to be the best wife you can be.

Be Happy

I truly believe the first step to being better at anything you do is to be happy and show how happy you are to others. A smile is infectious and can help anyone who sees you. Ever hear the saying “happy wife, happy life?” Well then, be happy! Smile when your spouse walks in the door, smile when you speak with him and even smile with your voice when you speak to him on the phone.

Apologize

Don’t be afraid to say SORRY. Everyone makes mistakes, admit it and move on.

Dress Up for Him

It is easy to get in a rut, especially if you are a busy working mom or a busy stay-at-home mom. We tend to wear the same clothes day in day out, spend less time in the gym because we are tired or put on raggy comfy clothes as soon as we walk in the door. I’m not sayings it’s not ok to be comfortable, but I am saying you need to make an effort. Don’t forget your first date, those moments waiting to meet him that you checked your makeup and changed your outfit 5 times. Remember wanting to look good for him, remember the look on his face when he first saw you. This isn’t about being vain, it is about loving someone so much that you want to be the best version of yourself and being the best version of yourself means working out, eating healthy and even taking care of your skin.

Trust Him

You married him, if you didn’t trust him, you shouldn’t have done that. So many wives nag their husbands about where they have been, what they were doing, what they bought and so on. Stop doing that. Learn to communicate with one another along the way so there is no need to nag. Because I met a lot of frogs before I met my prince, I have struggled with this one over the years and continue to get better each and every year. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to commit to being better.

Talk About Him

This doesn’t mean bash him to all your friends and family for not taking out the trash. This means to talk about his accomplishments, bring up how he is so great with the kids and most of all let others know how much you love him. Make sure he hears you boasting about him, everyone wants to know the person they love has your back and is proud of you.

Give Him Space

Everyone needs their own time, their own activity and own identity. It is important that it doesn’t get lost throughout your marriage. Be sure to allow one another that time.
Date Him
Don’t get so caught up in the day-to-day, that you forget to date him. Leave him a cute message, surprise him, learn something new and overall give him that feeling a person first gets when they are newly dating someone.
Remember the reasons you fell in love, remember the reasons you got married and most of all remember you said for better or worse.
With all of that said, I am no marriage expert and like you, I need to work on my marriage each and every day to make it what it is and will continue to work to be a better wife as long as I am here. The moment you stop working on it is the moment it fails.
