FITNESS FRIDAY: Top 3 Workout Programs to Get Lean

As women, most of us want to have long and lean muscles. Unless you are a bodybuilder or really like to lift heavy weights (nothing wrong with this, just not for me), lean is the look most of us go for. The first program I discuss can give you either so it really works for all fitness types and goals.

Over the years, I have tried hundreds of workout programs, mostly because I like to change it up often so I don’t get bored. Out of all the workouts I have tried, there are 3 that stand out.  All of these workouts are by Beachbody, they really do have the market on workout programs so there are many others you may want to try too,  these are just my favorite!

P90x3

By far this has been my staple workout for years. Before there was  P90x3, I did P90x. I believe there was a prior version of it as well. I love this workout because it combines strength circuits with cardio with core and muscle lengthening routines like yoga and so much more. Another bonus is that the P90x3 version is 30-minute workouts. As a mom, it is crucial to have workouts I can fit in under 30 minutes a day from home.

Insanity Max 30

Ok, so I really have a love-hate relationship with this workout program. It is by far the hardest workout that I have ever done but it is also has given me the best results I’ve ever seen. It is a tremendous amount of cardio at an extremely high-intensity rate. Be sure not to do this workout in front of your kids as I guarantee you will be yelling obscenities at the TV. So worth the results though. There are two versions; Insanity or Insanity Max 30. The Max 30 version is 30-minute workouts whereas Insanity is upwards to an hour I believe. Obviously, my choice is the Max version.

T25

This workout, to me, is in-between the two above. It offers more cardio than P90x, but less intense than Insanity. As I mentioned I like workouts that are less than 30 minutes so this one is even better because they are all 25 minutes. T25 also does a great job of showing multiple modifications for those in need. We don’t all start at the same level so this is really important. In fact, I do this workout program with my mom all the time. I am 33 and she is 56 so it really does work for all ages and fitness levels.

Get Moving

As a mom and fitness enthusiast, I encourage you to get moving each day. You need to be fit in order to keep up with your kiddos, to be healthy and to set a good example. It is great to watch what you eat, but you won’t see the best results until you add in a fitness routine. Try one of these great workouts and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you! Tell me about your workout journey, what program you are currently doing and what questions you may have.
